Boss used to make one but good luck finding it!

The only one I know of right now is the Carl Martin EQ/preamp pedal.

There's lots of good ones out there if you're want to go rack.

Thanks man!

Yeah, I know this boss is hard to find, cos it's discontinued. And this Carl Martin looks like it could do the job... But shit, it has no Q knob!

Curious. what would be the advantage of using a parametric EQ, rather than a Graphic one?

Because Graphics have set bands of frequencies to choose from, and set widths per band. With a parametric, you could say set an EQ boost at 753hz, and have it either be very thin (i.e. it boosts 753hz and very little around it) or a large width (could be anything like 100hz either side boosted).

Graphics are great if you just want a general tone shape, but if you want specific frequencies boosted, parametrics are far more useful.

Wow.

Yeah, It seems this would be the best solution.

So, could you recommend me one, which is relatively cheap but effective?

could grab the Behringer rack - wont break the bank, 31 sliders i believe, it'd get the job done.

i want to mess w/ a para-EQ to see if i can really nail that "holy whe this tone is the shit!" sound. apparently it's doable

3 cheers for free gear!
