Tube Rig 'o Death

Thought some guys here would appreciate this

I've been recording a friend of mine, Petef2007 on here. He's in a band called Bury Your Beloved, and he brought round his amp today for recording. I also borrowed a friends amp too to suplement the recording. Needless to say, I've not even started mixing it yet, and it sounds huge

Got my Engl cab in another room with a 20 ft long speaker cable, and it makes tweaking tones and getting them right on tape so much easier

Every amp has been used too, Pete's Fireball and my friend from work's 5150 are the main central tones, the Invader to suplement the low end and mids (and without it, the guitars sound pretty dead), and the Thunder for....wait for it.....bass

I used a DI line for low end on the bass, and the high end is all the Thunder 50, sounds amazing, I'll upload a clip at some point soon of it all

, we put the amps on top of each other while we were about to record bass, and we both looked and said, MUST HAVE PICTURE OF THAT!

Have to say though, the 5150, while a good amp, got slayed. It was dominating the Fireball a bit at similar volume levels, but the Invader was set LOWER in volume, and still kicked it in the face. In the mix, I went thru each amp, trying combinations, and the Fireball muted lost a bit of the In Flames-esque tone, the 5150 lost it a VERY tiny amount of mids, but the Invader muted made everything just sound thin, no low end, no clarity, I am in love with this Invader

Pretty much, was tweaking it as I was listening through the monitors, and it had this really dry yet chunky feel to it, really cool actually, but like I said, the moment the Invader got in the mix, even at comparable volumes, the 5150 just dissapeared. I may have to consider scooping some frequencies out of the Invader tracks just to hear the 5150
