JMP-1 and its use in my set-up

I'm trying to pick one of these up. There are 3 on eBay right now that I'm watching, just waiting before I get in on them.
I've not actually played one, but I'm all but convinced it's going to give me the tone I want. Right now, my favourite guitar tone is Mats Haugen's from Circus Maximus. I've been trying to get close with the XT Pro and its JMPre model, but it just doesn't cut it.

The thing is, like any gear purchase, it's going to lead to more being required.

My first concern is the power amp. My power amp is a Marshall 8008, which works quite nicely with the XT Pro through many cabs. But I'm wondering if that's going to do the JMP-1 justice.

Secondly, I don't own a cab, and since I'm hoping to start playing out again soon, I'll need to get one. I've got plenty in mind, but this is just through browsing and reading. The best cab I put the XT and 8008 through was a Framus Cobra (my friend has a deal with 'em, and I tried it through his and gigged with it). But this is kind of irrelevant with a new pre-amp in teh equation.

Lastly, I'm planning on using the XT Pro still in my set-up, but I'm unsure of how to best do this, especially when it comes to switching options. Just using the XT Pro with the Shortboard is too simple for words. But this might get a little complicated now.

Anyone have any thoughts on these issues?
