Picstory: Building the 2008 SS Rig O' Death!

I decided it was high time to build a RIG O' DEATH. Not just any RIG O' DEATH, but a 2200 watt solid state metal monster from the dregs of hell built from the ground up! Well ok...I got a tube or 2 in the Digitech, but other than that....

So, let's begin. I bought a couple of Mesa Recto 2x12 cabs recently. One was brand new & the other was slightly used. Great cabs, but I did buy them with the intention of swapping out my harsh midrangey low-wattage nemesises, the dreaded Celestion Vintage 30s.

What should I replace with? How about some brand new Eminence Swamp Thangs! They are chunky as fuck & rated at 150w (300w peak)!

Cab 1 getting loaded....

All done & ready for some sonic devastation.

Count them....TWO 300w 2x12 cabs capable of handling 600w peak!

I have a 8-space guitar rack I need to fill up. What should I fill them with to help me administer metal to the masses? Let's buy some more stuff!

The ingrediants: Furman power conditioner, Behringer Ultra Q Parametric EQ, BBE 362, Digitech GSP2101 Ltd Ed, Carvin DCM 1500 (1500w). The open space is reserved for my Carvin In-Ear Monitoring System (currently in my band's PA system rack).

Looks pretty sweet, eh? Believe me, it sounds incredible so far & it's FUCKING LOUDER THAN ALL HELL! But wait, I told you I was building the
RIG O' DEATH
...not the semi-rig o' death.

Let's take this rack....

....fill 'er up with an additional 700w of chest thumping power!

The ingrediants: Another Furman, another BBE 482i, Gallien-Krueger 1001RB-II bass head.

Now, let's add that rack & a bass 4x10 to the semi-rig o' death to produce the brutal 2200w beast known as....

Yeah, in all honesty, I'll use the semi-rig as the MAIN live rig. But if the venue is huge, I may bring the full-blown rig just for kicks. I'll enjoy melting the face off of the soundman for 4 hours straight.
