Would it be worth it???

just wondering if it would be worthwhile swapping out the stock speakers in my 5150 1 60w combo for some vintage 30's?
would it make a drastic improvement in tone?
and also, any other good speakers?
cheers guys

hell yeah!
when I owned my 5150 combo I always ran it thru an external 4X12 laoded with V30's.
those stock speakers (IMO) just sound horrid.
I'd even try it with C90's, I used to run myJSx thur v30's but I like it even more thru the C90's I picked up.

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

i'd look at the WGS version used, as well as the actual celestions.

i want to get some V30's for my straight cab, so i can switch it up between my British Leads (C90 type) and V30's with the jsx.

3 cheers for free gear!

look around for a used Avatar cab.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

As you're from Australia, you should look at Framus cabs. They are relatively cheap and come with V30. I have a Framus 212CS, it sounds really great.

warlock7strEMG is a jewel in the rough
You should look into some Warehouse Guitar Speakers brand British Leads(Celestion CL80 copies) or Eminence The Governors(V30 type speakers but without the icepicky highs and midspike)

And if youre lookin into just gettin a decently priced 4 12 cab i would highly recommend one of these 2:

Avatar 412 Vintage

Avatar 412 Contemporary

The Contemporary cabs are supposed to be comparable to Orange cabs
