ok, guys, i'm open to suggestions, and would like to add alternatives:

1: two mono 4X12 cabs, but they would have to be lower quality
2: two 2X12 cabs side by side, but they would have to be able to stand on their side or something. also, vertical 2X12 cabs. again, they would have to cost the same together as one 4X12, about 1160$ or whatever it was in dollars...

are the peavey XXL or XXX cabs any good? i'm open to other brands and cabs, as long as they fulfill my needs. i found a guy selling a mesa cab, black shadow speakers, 3/4 closed... good price too, and i sent him an email, hoping it would be possible to ship it without too much of an added cost :P

Well, most stereo cabinets I've played lack the depth of two 2x12" or two 4x12", because the two channels have a tendency to clash with eachother when they're being voiced so close to eachother, and the stereo quality is lost a little bit (in my experience).

That in mind, having two 4x12" cabinets with descent speakers might really fuck the budget up. So, I'd recommend two 2x12" cabinets. What make or model? Can't really say, as I'm not familiar with the options on many 2x12" If you really want diversity, and for your rig to sound unique then you'll probably have to load up a cabinet(s) with speakers of your own choice.

All that aside, if you decide on buying *just* a 4x12" cabinet, I'd suggest the Bogner (like Joe did) or even the Mesa as long as it's got MC90s or CL80s.

thanks!

i don´t think i can find the bogner cab just like that without paying assloads, and the same for the mesa cab. i did find a guy selling a sweet mesa cab, but with shipping, i might not be able to afford it... we´ll see!

and i´ll be on the lookout for dual 2X12s now... maybe different ones, maybe identical ones, i dunno :P

edit: just emailed a guy selling a Rivera 2x12, and i´m thinking about a Framus 2X12 for the other side. anyone have complaints about the framus?

interesting discoveries i´ve made during my search:
2X12 vertical cabs :P

Peavey XXX 412 cabs... they seem nice, that´s all. stereo, as well.

Behringer 412 cab (don´t remember the exact name, it´s in the ultrastack series). it´s constructed with the two upper speakers pointed outwards to the sides, for super-uber-mega stereo separation, while the two speakers in the bottom are straight forward. buy one of these, remove behringer logo, replace top speakers with v30s or something, and the bottom ones with c90s, and run the whole thing in stereo, and you´ve got murder!!!

I've got a pair of vertical 2x12"s. The configuration, and the speakers are spectacular, but the cabinets themselves (the ones I have, anyway) are a little compact and their size doesn't transmit the bass response of the speakers as well as they should.

ok, so i´m getting a Rivera 2X12 cab for cheap, and i´m wondering how i´d go about wiring it to stereo? it´s mono, 16 ohm, 2X v30s.
