GC moron story

Me: Hey, I've been thinking about getting rid of my Line 6 HD147 and replacing it with either the PODXT Pro or the new PODX3 Pro when it's released and a poweramp to have that warmer sound like tubes produce. What kind of guitar poweramps do you guys sell here? A friend of mine mentioned his Peavey Classic 50/50 and I'm sort of interested.

Douchebag: Okay, you mean tubes?

Me: Yes.

Douchebag: All right, well, this is a good tube amp(points to a Peavey Valveking) and so is this one(points to a B-52).

I walk away and try to talk to some in electronics hoping for the best. His answer:

"Oh, talk to Darren(douchebag) about that, he's an expert."

We walked right out.

I'm really not a fan of GC period. For anything. I can get it for cheaper and without the idiots off of the internet.

I'm friends with a guy that works at GC and he's the best salesman I've ever dealt with. I became friends with him just through buying stuff there. He sold me a used triple rec for under $1000 thats in almost new cond. He also sold me a brand new 6505+ for under $1000. The other GC I've been to however is chock full of dumbasses and douchebags, and I'm pretty sure thats how most of them are. Even he thinks so.

He's a douchebag cause he doesnt know shit? Nah, he's just an fucking ignoramus. the VK is a cool enough amp, though its totally NOT what you were looking for.

I always wonder about these stories. I mean, would you expect to go into Wal-mart and talk to someone who knows their shit about any of the products on the shelf more than you would? Nah. You gotta be informed. GC and Sam Ash are just Wal-marts of guitars. You just gotta arm yourself with knowledge before hand.
