Need help deciding on a delay pedal

So I'm thinking about getting rid of my Tonelab LE since I hardly ever use it in the loop of my Mark III anymore because the tone suck bothers me to the point where I'd rather not use it all.

I want to go the pedal route instead and pick up a Boss tuner pedal and an MXR SmartGate, but I can't decide on the delay pedal. I think I want analog for a nice warm lead tone, but I've heard they can get muddy live compared to digital? The ones I've been looking at are

MXR Carbon Copy $150
Tech 21 Boost DLA $150
EHX #1 Echo $99

I would get an Ibanez analog, but I'm turned off by the short delay time. The MXR looks like a good alternative with double the delay time at 600ms.
The Tech21 also looks cool since it's a clean boost and digital delay in one pedal which would come in real handy for giving my solos more pop. The EHX gets good reviews and is less expensive.

The only delay I've tried with my amp was a DigiTech DigiDelay and I did not like it at all. Too digital sounding and too many features; I just want a simple, good sounding delay to warm up my solos without muddying them up. Which one should I get?

I was going to say look on ebay for a DD-5 (around $150) because it has extrenal tap tempo or even the new DD-7 (no idea on the cost)

i kinda want to get one of those H2O pedals, but it's not really a delay pedal. more of an echo/chorus thing.

Im slowly phasing all the digital shit out of my rig, and soon I'll be selling my BOSS DD6 for an MXR carbon copy: analog delay, minimal controls, true bypass. yay!!

Another DD-6 user here. I've been using it for the last couple of years and can't say a bad thing about it.

I'm about as cool as a fart in a space helmet.

I've read about problems with the Boss DD3 in the loop of Mark IV's. They say it overloads the pedal causing it to sound crappy, but the DD20 does not have that problem. Im not really interested in the Boss delays though to be honest. Right now Im debating between the MXR and the EHX. Can anyone give me some insight into the analog vs digital delay issue? Is it really just a matter of warmth vs clarity?

the digital "analog" modes on the DD-20 sound pretty damn authentic to me. in a live context you will not hear a difference.

i used (and still do) a Boss DD-5 for about 12 years now and really have no complaints with it. recently i was on the hunt for a good analog delay, but ended up getting the DD-20 because like i said earlier, it's simulated analog and tape delays sounded just fine for me, and i love the digital flexibility .

if all you want is just the one analog delay sound that the MXR or EHX can give you, then that would be your best option. i personally like switching between different delays alot, so they really don't work for me.
