adamgiroux is a jewel in the rough
My first NAD (not too pic heavy)

so.. after researching for a long while and saving up for a very long time, i finally bought my new amp
here's a very obvious hint:

hooray mesa boogie roadster!

I haven't really had much time to mess with it too much yet, and the cab sucks, but from what i can tell so far its really nice. I do find it to be a little weak sounding, so i'm gonna go out and buy a tube screamer tonight and hopefully it will make it more aggressive. The cab is the only rental 4x12 they had, and i have a feeling it's the biggest reason it sounds weak. I'd love some suggestions on how to get the best sound out of this thing and what cab i should buy when the money comes in, so if you can, help me out.

Regards,

Adam

Nice!

Hey, you're in London, Ontario? You play in a band? Your name sounds familiar

One of my guitarists plays a Loomis as well.

It's certainling the best looking amp that Mesa make, and I'm sure it sounds just as good.

Congrats man, enjoy!

It really is a night and day difference. There is nothing like juicing up the front end of the preamp with a really hot signal. I've noticed that active pickups basically do this by themselves, although it still makes a bit of a difference.

Look for old Peavey cabs with the 85w Celestions. They are solid cabs, and the speakers are very close to C90s. Mike's Triple Rec sounds beast through that cab.
