Framus cabs?

Hello,
Im buying soon my first tube amp head(rivera fandango) and i wanted to ask about cabs that will feat it.
Im searching for a 2X12 V30's cab, not too expensive.
Does anyone knows/owns the framus FR 212 CB?

Framus international

Does framus has a good reputation in the cab territory?
Thanks,
Trippled.

they're stunning cabs.

our john is endorsed by framus and his modded cabs for the dragon are fantastic sounding.

I picked up the Framus CS 2X12 with V30's for my dragon. It seems fairly well built and they are priced very reasonably.

I did have a very strange issue...for a few days I lost a lot of bass..JJ brought his identical amp over to test on the cab and his sounded exactly the same...very fizzy. I do not understand how a cab could cause this but it went away on its own and I now have the most brutal baby shaking tone dialed in.

Like I said it feels very well constructed. The handles feel good and solid. The tolex is not as thick as what you see with alot of cabs so if you are going to be gigging a lot it might take a beating but that only adds character. If it is going to sit in your home most of the time or you don't care about it looking pretty you won't regret it.

That being said..you cant go wrong with a Vader if you don't mind waiting. It was my first choice but my head was on its way and I couldn't wait to get it plugged in.

I have the Framus FR 212 CB and I think it's great. Very good quality at reasonable prices.

Same here, it´s not a bass monster, but It´s well balanced overall and well built. Lots of mids because of the V30s

I'm interested how they compare in construction quality to an engl pro or genz-benz g-flex 2x12.

I can get all three cabs for around the same price give or take $100, the framus is new and others are used. Aus dollars of course.

The framus weights 22 kg and the ENGL weigths 36kg, which is already what a marshall 412 weights

ENGL cabs are thicker than 'standard cabs', hence the weigth. They're built REALLY solid, whereas the framus is more of a classic built. I can't comment on the G-flex, since i've never seen one of those here in germany, but out of the first two, i'd take the ENGL or a long shot as far as controction quality and robustness goes. Which doesn't mean at all that the framus cab is poorly constructed or bad quality, i just think the ENGL cabs are way more solid.

As for the sound, well this is probably an even bigger and more important difference between these cabs. I personaly liked the dragon 4x12 better than the ENGL 4x12 (v30) for all amps that aren't ENGL. The ENGL v30 has a very pronounced midrange, which i think works well with the scooped ENGL voicing but may sound unbalanced with most other amps.

i used to have a Cobra with a Dragon 4x12. then i downsized to the Framus CS212.
it was VERY similiar to the Dragon 4x12...obviously less bass and a little brighter.
great cab/tone ...ridiculously thin tolex (on all framus stuff) which indents if you put anything with a little bit of weight on it.

anways i ve now sold the Cobra and got the CS top so i have the matching head cab and the V30s in the cab sound even better now( Cobras crunch didnt agree...needed greenbacks)
