you're the closest....it's an MG50RCD, with the line-out run into an Ampeg BA115 (50W SS practice 1x15 combo amp).

we had 2 Radio Shack omnidirectional mics run into a cheap Radio Shack mixer, and then that into my parents' old Sansui cassette deck. yeah, the drummer was not very good. the recording was also from one of my first experiences playing in front of people, so i was nervous as shit too

anyway, the point of posting that clip, was to show that the MG series actually doesn't suck as much as a lot of people seem to think.

Saying that the drummer in that clip is "not very good" is like saying that Drew's pink polo is "not very manly" dude.

My buddy uses an MG half stack in his band it sounds pretty damn good. Oddly enough, when he and I were in a band together years ago, he was playing a JCM900 and his tone was pure dogshit. Not that 900's were anything to write home about though...

I almost bought an MG 2x12 combo around the time I got my Mesa. It sounded pretty fucking good, but the built in FX and CD line-in made me realize it's more of a toy than a real amp. Plus, I got my F-30 for less.

from best to worst: old Valvestate > MG > AVT

FWIW, i have no idea if there's any difference in tone between the MGRCD and MGDFX though.
