![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | NAD: Its finally here :D Praise Raptor Jesus! (56k: Go play in front of train) Its finally that time of....well.....life, to get the amp I have lusted after since the moment I plugged into it. I know some people on here are sick of seeing these amps, but off this forum, I barely know anyone who has one anyway, especially the version I have. Warning: Lolrus has returned, accompanied by Wincent, so if you show disdain at Internet Memes and bad grammar, fast forward to the amp pics and the review at the end ![]() AND SO WE BEGIN. It was a quiet Friday the 25th of April, nothing was stirring, until Lolrus arose. He woke up, and realised something was wrong. ![]() But he was confused, for he could not work out what was wrong. "WINCENT!" he cried. ![]() Wincent appeared. "Do you know what is wrong?" exclaimed Lolrus. Wincent said "I'm not sure, but if we head on down to the righteous carpet of truth, maybe we shall discover what appears to be the problem" ![]() Wincent and Lolrus travelled down to the Carpet Of Truth, and were still none the wiser. Until.... ![]() "Did something not inhabit this space before?" they both cried. Then they both realised. ![]() ![]() "Where has the glorious God of noise disappeared to?" they both wondered. Until they heard a stirring from the lower valleys.... ![]() "This way!" said Lolrus. And there they went. ![]() "Past the dreaded hall of gluten!" said Wincent. And they went past. ![]() "Into the chamber of death!" Wincent exaggerated. Along the way, they met a strange creature who was to prove very useful. ![]() Raptor Jesus intervened to taunt the pair, but they were not to be dissuaded on their quest. ![]() "Where is our god now?" cried the pair. "Go into the Cavern Of Glass and you shall find the deity you seek!" muttered the hairy beast. ![]() "This must be it! The Chamber Of Glass!" cried Lolrus. ![]() "OUR GOD! BUT HE IS BIGGER! HE IS STRONGER! HE IS MIGHTY!" Cried Lolrus. The pair had found their God, but it was revealed that he was part of the Holy Trinity. The Holy 50, the Holy 150, and the Holy 4x12. Thus, the pair were elated. The end. AMP PICS TIME And thus here ends the sillyness, and begins the amp pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wincent along with Lolrus admiring the stack of death ![]() ![]() They also helped show off another little acquisition from today ![]() ![]() ![]() Quite a bit of a difference in the amount of jack sockets and knobs on the back, but damn, I love knobs (BWAHAHAHA I SAID I LOVE NOBS )SILLYNESS ALERT ![]() The pair returned to their home, with the other Lolcreatures, and they rested. Reviews What can I say? I've been wanting this amp since November, the first time I plugged it in. My girlfriend will not have to listen to me keep saying DAMN WHEN CAN I GET IT for any longer, so it helps her out too ![]() I traded in my Mesa Road Ready 4x12 for the Engl Cab, and damn am I glad I did, the bass is so much more full, yet tight, the mids are punchy yet have a smooth quality, and the highs are great, nothing ice picky, just clear. Its exactly what I wanted in a cab for live use (cant wait to see how it records, compared to the V30's I had in the Mesa). It even makes the Thunder 50 sound like a tight as hell metal amp, rather than slightly loose which it was before. The amp itself? Pure bliss. There is no way of describing the sheer beauty of the tone. It has a huge amount of mids, but it doesn't sound honky. I was afraid that my Thunder might fit me better compared to this when I got it home, but them fears were soon quashed. I got the Thunders tone in 5 minutes, and many improved versions of it too. The clean has this clear edge to it, and when you put the bright mode on, its almost piezo-esque, which I really like. The 3rd and 4th channels are amazing, the 3rd is thick in the low mids, a bit of a scoop higher up, and is very tight. The 4th channel has insane amounts of gain, and for leads is so smooth its to die for. What I really made me need this amp was Channel 2. Add the bright and hi gain switch, and its a pure tight as hell rhythm machine. Its sort of like a less cold version of Meshuggahs tone, yet take the hi gain mode off, and it goes into Crunch territory easily. The MIDI features on this are spot on, just patch change in a sense, which is what I've wanted for a while. I'll have to get another MIDI cable to hook up the G Major and have a play with that (plus I'm going to have to change nearly every setting on the G major too....), as I'm using the FCB1010 to control the amp alone at the moment. Still, I've not felt the need to try effects on it yet, but I can bet when I do, it will be glorious ![]() The ISP is brilliant, not a single bit of noise you dont want escapes through, and every note you want comes through, its the perfect noise gate. I know people at the moment are on a bit of a downer for these amps, but I personally couldn't care less, hate them for being popular on here, I'll like it because of the sound ![]() Anyway, I shall let you all have a look and gander ![]() |

And points for not doing a stupid-assed "how shall I open this box?" scene. ![]() "...and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon." |
