So i heard ss.org is all about rig-pics (pics,proving bad photographskills,incl.)

this is it at the moment. 3 month ago my rig was marshall valvestate 8100 (boosted with H&K Tube Factor) into Randall RA412blabla...but after almost 15 years of gutiar playing, i thought it was time to get a new amp, and some of you know already, i found my tone in the Diezel Herbert. But Herbie felt so lonely and he hates this randall-cab-crap, so here is my actual rig:

i would love to keep all of this - but unfortuneately i can only stick with one amp, so einstein has to go.

Hardly the worst photography i've seen. :p

Good step-up from a Valvestate, mate.

Awesome stuff mate! Do you use effects or just plug straight into the amp? Also, what footcontroller do you use to switch the Herbert?

thanks man!

at the moment - no effects(*) (i even have most times no need for the noise supressor anymore!) and at the moment also no foot-controller (diezel columbus costs about 390,- euro ). i did not buy another foot controler yet, because i will receive one this weekend for free - a friend of mine who used to play a mesa triaxis - 2:90 setup stopped playing in a band and already sold this stuff, but still has the midi-footswitch and has no need for it. will post it in here after receipt!

(*)i sold alsmost everything of my old stuff to afford a second 7string.

you can hear very good kind of the "same" ground-tone on both (as well as on the VH4, which i also A/B/C-ed with Herbert and Einstein when i bought Herbi), but Herbert is (when its about high gain) waaaaaaayyy more the tight-low-end-beast, especially with mid-cut engaged - Einstein is more loose and also veryvery open sounding against the herbert, which is more on the compressed side (but not as much as the VH4(esp.CH3)).

i love the cleans on my herbert, but man - the einstein has TEH cleans. while herbert has this over-the-top-clean, alsmost piano like sparkling bright...einstein can go from tthat to almost fender-twin-like and back to beyond. amazing.

i can give you a more detailled review beginning of next week - just could compare ~15 minutes and will spend much more time on the weekend with it!

EDIT: you often read/hear that the einstein is more "vintage"-sounding or something - it is definitely not. still a modern tone, and you can also get awesome metal tones out of it. its just not that evil as the herbert is.

is that a dragon cab? if so, how are they?

...Each guitarist has an evil fat 40 year old blueswankler trying to get out, If you give in to temptation you'll be sitting next to a fender playing john lee hooker while trying to keep your combover in place.

yeah, its the dragon cab. over here they are really cheap (~500,- euro new, i sw them go used for aprox. 350,-), and as i am still saving money for the diezel frontloaded 412 (~1200,- euro) this is imho one of the best solutions for smaller amounts. compared with randall, harley benton, fame, 1960,..(all V30 loaded, so is the dragon cab) - the framus was mroe "massive" sounding than the others, therefor i was really surprised about its weight. i really like it, and especially einstein+dragon-cab is a KILLER combination which fits perfectly.

will compare the dragon cab with the engl V30 in the next 2 weeks, can then tell more hopefully.

Nice one man, cheers for the info! I've AB'd the Herbert and VH4, but not the Einstein. One day it might be nice to have a smaller, less complicated amp, alongside my VH4. The Einstein certainly sounds great! Is yours the 50 or 100w version?
