What would one of these things do to an Epiphone Valve Junior? (5 watt Class A one-knob vintage tone machine?)

forgive my ignorance but doesn't a tube screamer go in front of a amp and not in the loop?

Just because it's called a 'Tube' screamer doesn't mean you HAVE to use it with a tube amp. I put my Bloody Murder in front of a Marshall MG100DFX 1X12 combo amp with the drive on 0... And MAN it made the amp sing! Cleaned it up, added a bit of clarity and made it nice n' crunchy! The mids were smooth and pronounced, and the low end gained a tight punch.
You shake your ass but you're already dead.

my bloody murder reacts the same way as every other tubescreamer-style OD i've used, except it has waaaaaaaay more gain on tap, more bottom end is let through (not loose tho, keeps it tight) and its brighter and clearer sounding. |

![]() In all seriousness, the esteem it receives here tickles me for a try myself. It's a little hard to get a good assesment without trying it out, tubes or solid state. |
