![]() | RAISING a CAB(2x12) off the floor with... so ive been going shopping with the missus for furniture to furnish our empty new house...its been pretty boring so far...until i found a way to make it related to my music gear. i have a built in wardrobe which is where i plan to put my amp/cabs in. im thinking i want to get some sort of table/stand to raise my speaker cabs up on...but till this date havent found anything that can fit into the wardrobe(too wide) or wide enought to accomade my 2 speaker cabs... until i saw this ![]() it is the EXACT width to fit my framus 2x12 cab and laney 2x10 cab(on its side) and it also fits inside the wardrobe with room to spare on each side. so im taking it as a sign that its "meant to be" any thoughts of how this will affect the sound? im expecting loss of a bit of low end. what i dont want is the whole thing to rattle...but i dont think it should with the weight of 2 cabs and amps on it. thoughts? |

Unless you isolate the stand some how.. ![]() http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gea...brand-new.html "I wish TV had a knob so you could turn up the intelligence. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Putting amps and cabinets in a closet like that is going to sound terrible. Trust me. We have a little nook like that in our rehearsal space, and the only thing it's good for is storage. Amps placed in there just get too boomy. Here's what you need: ![]() or ![]() This space intentionally left blank. |

![]() | would it help it if lined the wardrobe with some foam to reduce the boomyness?? this is the wardrobe anways ![]() except the doors have been taken off...and the walls arent pink anymore+ theres wooden floating floors. amps are framus cobra+framus 2x12 and Epiphone Valve Jr + Laney 2x10. both cabs are closed back. |

![]() | i may make some mdf pannels with foam (with skin layer) attached to it and wrap that up in fabric for the rear and sides of the wardrobe... not gonna isolate it completely thou as i will be moving the cab into another room should i want to record loud. |
