![]() | Dragon Issue Here is my story. Bought a Framus Dragon a Month or so ago..I have been happy with it for the most part so far. Today I was playing for 20 minutes or so and the tone has changed to that of a cheap ass distortion pedal. Think Danelectro black coffee. Very Fizzy sounding like the Treble is dimed all of the time and it has more gain..but not a nice gain. With the assistance of JJ Rodriguez we changed the tubes..all of them and re-biased and the problem persists. I am wondering what my next step should be. Any input would be very much appreciated. My biggest issue is the lack of knowledgeable techs in the area. In my experience with tube amps...my only one being a XXX 9 out of 10 problems come down to tubes and I have ruled that out. Thanks |

![]() | Did you do a full rebiasing of the amp with a scope, because that could cause poor sound quality if you didn't. Honestly there could be a problem at any point in your signal chain that could cause sound problems, its best to take it to a tech, even if it means searching around a bit. |

![]() | Well I am dropping it off to a local music store tomorrow that will try to Diagnose and if they can't fix it will send it away to an electronics company that they deal with often. I am a little scared. It bothers me that they have never heard of Framus but I printed off the schematics and Manual to try and dumb it down a bit for them. Wish her luck ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mine wasn't so much a sound problem as a lack of gain, and when Centaur got his, I tested it out and it was identical to mine. They're just low gain amps. They sound amazing, and I can boost it and get the gain I need, it just had me concerned because they're supposedly high gain amps. |

![]() | I took it to Tony's instead of music Ghestapo. They have always treated me pretty good. I am still worried for her ![]() I admit when I got the amp I was very disappointed with the lack of gain but once I got a good boosted tone dialed in I was more than happy with it. |

![]() | The fact that few around here have even heard the name Framus makes me wonder if anyone will be able to fix it. If it doesn't say Fender or Marshall it does not exist. If a jackass not knowing how it is supposed to sound plugged into it right now he might think everything is fine..but I know its not. I will keep you posted on what they decide the problem is...if they do.. |
