Watch them plug it in and be like "Whoa! This amp sounds so awesome/metal!".

So interestingly enough JJ Rodriguez brought Norbert over for troubleshooting..never thought the cab could be causing it but sure enough it sounded the same...

Took out the V30's for an inspection and everything appeared to be fine. I seem to be lacking some bass and it is quite grainy sounding. I realize that V30's are a bit harsh like this to begin with but I have been playing with them for a month or so and this is a new sound....

Any idea what could be causing this? Solder joints appear to be fine. I could not find any tears on the cone..

This is a brand new Framus CS212 cab and I did discover a washer stuck to the speaker magnet. I was really hoping that it was the cause of the noise but upon removing it there was no change.

i've had mindy for quite some time now, and i've never had any problems with her.
i had a bad preamp tube that was causing some problems a while back, but she was back to her normal face-destroying self after a retube. other than that, i'm 100% happy with her.
let us know if you find out what the problem is.

I'm typing this on my knees with my butt in the air. -Drew

Interested in these amps myself, I find this rather scary

Glad you got the problem resolved and I hope it doesn't reoccur!

It wasn't the amp, it was the cab. As soon as I brought over Norbert and plugged him into the cab, it was very noticeable.

Sounds like a dirty contact on the speaker cab or even possibly( doubtful you have a bad or cold joint on the input connection of your cab, or even on the crossover if you have anything like that on the cab, I am not familiar with framus' cabs if they are stereo or have direct recroding capabilites etc, all I know is my cobra has ass loads of gain more than I fucking need. I posted the link to the schematics for you centaur if you want to try and make your lead channel to cobra spec, check my other thread about the engl SE it's in there

Has this been done successfully? There is a dragon for sale over my way, but I was always more partial to the insanity of the cobra.

Sure does check the link i modded my friend Aaron's. I like the Cobra better than the dragon but thats just me, the amps are a very simple design
