EdgeCrusher is a jewel in the rough
Yes, they are very good amps for the money. I own the AD100VTH head and the Tonelab LE, and I've been thinking about picking up one of the small XL combos for practice. They sound and feel much more "realistic" and tube like than any other modeler I've tried. Another plus is that you can record direct using the headphone out since it has cabinet modeling and it actually sounds pretty damn good!

Here is a clip recorded by Tommi Inkila over on the Petrucci forums of his AD15VT recorded direct
http://www.scenerychannel.com/broadc...20-%20VFTM.mp3

I also recommend a boost such as a Tubescreamer up front, the amp responds very well to boosting just like a real tube amp.

Quick clip I did the other day. This is the Damaged model, then the Modern one, then back to Damaged at the end. Mic'ed with a Samson USB.

I have an AD50VT and I'm quite pleased with it. The rectifier model is a little too noisy but all the other models sound great and they actually have the feel of a tube amp. I haven't personally tried an XL model but have few complaints about mine.

Probably better, since what I have is a $50 USB mic.

i have one of the regular vox ad30vt's, and i've tried out the XL ones, and they're similar, but with more metal styled amps, and a touch more gain on tap.

imo they work best wiht an overdrive infront. heres a clip i recorded of mine, while trying to get better at mixing. tone is kinda bad cos it was at low volume recorded with some cheap vocal mic that came with my friend's keyboard, but i suppose its better than nothing!

chuggity song remixed - Putfile.com

was doubletracked with my bloody murder up front for just tightening up the tone (very little gain added with it)

oh yeah, and its the numetal amp model.

Dalroth is on a distinguished road
I've got an AD30VT. I'm reasonably happy with it, but I do want something better. Actually, I like it a lot more since I picked up a BBE Green Screamer a few weeks back (and I've had it for three years now).

That being said, I do have some complaints. The built-in effects are mediocre, and the tone knobs don't seem to work all that great (at least for me). I also wish it had an effects loop.
