![]() ![]() ![]() | Tone me up Scotty! I want to do a total tonal revamp on my MKIV. I only seem to be using the lead channel for distortion, and neglecting the Rhythm 2 channel. Is the Rhythm 2 channel supposed to be so much warmer than the Lead? Is it possible to change it? I've seen many people use Lead as their Rhythm tone, and RHY2 as their Lead tone. Anyways, I'm looking for a Rhythm tone similar to Jeff Loomis's rhythm on TGE. Would I use the lead channel or the or the Rhythm? Mind you I'm running it through a 2x12 Recto cab with an Mohagany guitar with incoming Blackouts. Could someone hook me up with some settings/ advice? I'm going to make this pencil disapper |

Generally, you'd set it up for a nice lead sound, and then use the graphic EQ to shape it for a rythm sound. So yeah, definitely use the lead channel if you're going for the whole Jeff Loomis style. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hungus is right, you set up the lead channel for a big fat lead sound and then use the graphic EQ to toggle between the full mids for leads (off) and then more scooped mids for rhythms (on). The R2 channel is, IMO, almost completely useles.. I had my Mark IV for months and can't remember ever liking any sound I got out of that channel. _________________________ "Ah, she's built like a steakhouse but she handles like a bistro" - ZB My Soundclick Page |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks guys. I do enjoy the R2 channel for a softer lead sound, almost Petrucci like at times. Yeah, today I'm going to spend my day toying around with my amp (or toning around ) |
