Rig suggestions?

I am currently waiting on a Mark IV wide body combo and, while waiting, have decided to add some stuff to it. I thought I'd also get a 2x12 vertical recto cab (as opposed to a 4x12 for space reasons), a TC electronics G-Major and a Behringer FCB1010 controller for it.

Any other suggestions in terms of a cab, effects or controller within the same general price range? For that matter, any suggestions of other good companion components?

long time no see!

the only thing i can think of adding to that rig would be a TS7ovChaos or a bloody murder to boost the mark IV. everything else sounds like a solid gameplan.

3 cheers for free gear!

Funny enough, the Mark IV is one of those amps that doesn't really need a boost in front of it. I sounds great all on it's own, and if I owned one, I would use that pedal for solos only, to get that extra bump in volume.

Ya, I was wondering about a boost of some kind. I currently have a Jekyll & Hyde which I don't currently use on anything and also a Super Chili Picoso clean boost which can supply up to 35db of boost. I love it and use on everything. I had thought of picking up a BB preamp. I've heard they were pretty good.

I am, though, going to grab a pair of EL34s for it to try out as well.

When I had my Mark IV, a boost made absolutely zero difference in the tone. It seriously is one of the few amps that don't need one to sound good. It also sounds fantastic with just 6L6s.. I haven't ever heard anyone rave about how it sound swith EL34s.
My old Mark also sounded pretty sweet with a 2x12 Mesa cab with V30s. If you are getting the widebodied combo though, I would recommend the horizontal cab, not the vertical one, to keep your rig shorter and less susceptible to being knocked over.

I had originally thought of the horizontal 2x12 but the setup will physically fit better at home, between two stacks, if I go vertical. I also have a horizontal 2x12 and a 4x12 if they work out better for it when it's not camped at home.

Ya, That's what I've heard. Mind you, if you load the Mark IV with 6L6s and EL34s you can run them both at the same time or one type at a time.
