Chonker has a spectacular aura about
Amp/speaker advised needed

I've decided that the main problem I have with my sound is my little old Peavey Envoy 110 Transtube combo. I play through a POD X3 Live, and with headphones is sounds wonderful, clarity and brutality in perfect balace. When I play through my amp it sounds muddy and unclear.

I'm looking for advise, I'm not sure really if I should get another combo or a small cab and poweramp? My main problem is space, I can't really get away with anything much bigger than what I have, perhaps a single 12" or 2x10" at the very most. I want something that's going to give the sound I get in my headphones basically.

All advice appreciated

budda, the cab sims aren't the problem here, he's running a POD right into the input of an ss 1x10 combo amp. anything is gonna sound like shit through it. i should know, i have an Envoy 110 .

chonker, a power amp and 1x12 cab or a 1x12 combo with an effects loop are your best bet.

Chonker has a spectacular aura about
If I take off the amp/cab part I loose alot of the gain in the sound and substituting it for the gain channel on my combo isn't right and generates ALOT of hiss.

I've a friend who has a poweramp and 4 x 12 cab, I'm going to take my pod and guitar around to his and see what it sounds like. I guess a 1 x 12 will sound similar but just "smaller" as in the sound emission and direction will be tighter? (it's difficult to put this stuff into words or what?)
