EQ'ing for tight hi-gain sound on POD/Pocket POD Patch Library?

I can't tweak this hi-gain stuff very well. I'm running a POD with Rec setting and some generic cab. Sorry, not very useful but I'm away from it.

Its a first gen bean pod, what settings should I be using to get a focused metal sound? I'll be playing "metal" through a RG1570 with stock V7/S1/V8 pups, and just want something passable until I can upgrade (which will be in a while).

I've also got a Pocket POD, I've been googling for a few weeks, and besides some patches here and there, is there a decent library for me to use?

keep the gain low for tightness, i'd try 7-7-7 across the board and see how that sounds (i dont know if the POD models the interactive EQ controls of a mesa)

3 cheers for free gear!

I use the MS rectifier setting, with a lot of bass, a lot of mids, treble in 8, presence in 8, and I use the graphic eq scooping a bit the mids. Also I put the TS with gain in 40 drive in 60 and tone in 70/80.

Try that.

I don't think it will work with Pocket POD. They use a different format than .l6t or whatever the line 6 format is.

Download some of Bulb's patches? I don't know if they work with those versions though.

For the recto model try to keep the bass down around 10 o'clock and adjust mids and treble till they sound good, and if its lacking a bit of bass or still has too much adjust that again. You don't need a lot of gain either, and a boost always helps!

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

Don't thank me, thank the wombat rapist. - Jamie

if the TS settings are out of 100:

drive: 20
tone: 50
level: 80

that's the 2-5-8 setting most boosters use

or... buy a JoBo TS and stick that in front of your POD

do you mean the 'older' pod or the xt?

the older pod is basically the same as the poket pod. In that case the recto sim isn't too tight or articulate sounding. The soldano SLO100 sim sounded tighter and somewhat nicer, imo.

FS: Brand new set of EMG808's. Still unpacked!
