ATTN: POD X3 Live owners

I just bought one of these, but I'm already having some issues. I've upgraded all the software through the Line6 GearBox/Monkey, but when I turn on the X3, it just cycles through the patches & then the buttons won't function. Anyone had these issues? Is there a fix? Otherwise, I'm taking it back tomorrow & getting a new one.

JesseTheMachine will become famous soon enough
I have an X3 Live and I've never experienced such a problem with it, but I read on the Line 6 forum that in some of them the metallic shielding paint inside can flake off and cause shorts. . . maybe that's what's happened with yours.

Since I posted this, I've figured it out. Looks like I got a lemon from the factory. Almost every button sticks. I'll have it replaced w/ a new X3 tomorrow.

Would it be possible to go with an X3 bean and a shortboard Shannon? I picked up an X3 Live to test it out and it went straight back to Guitar Center 2 days later because the buttons felt cheap and sometimes it wasn't switching. The shortboard feels more sturdy to me so if possible that might be something to consider since you're going to be gigging it and you really need it to be road-worthy.

I was going to suggest that it might have been a problem with the firmware, Line6 have given special instructions for installing the firmware as using Monkey has created some problems but it looks like you worked it out.

Your right and Line6 have addressed it with major re staffing and I think the products in the future will be better quality. I think this may be part of the reason the X3 Pro is so far away. Unfortunately the product that was affected most by poor quality is the X3 Live, it makes me wonder if future X3 Lives will be improved.
