S'up to you man, if you have something in your tone you aren't happy with, or think you can get better, then go for it. I'm sure you could find someone to trade against an Invader or something else if you aren't happy.

However, I'd hold off if its just pure amp G.A.S., as within a couple of days or weeks you could end up forgetting about it anyway.

swapping amp would actually be a great idea towards temporarily fighting GAS attacks.

Someone interested in trading a fireball for a powerball, 'temporarily'?

since i own both a pittbull and an invader, i would definitely urge you to spend some time with the pittbull, ideally a/bing the two, they are both phenomenal amps, but they make VERY different sounds

Well... I'd have no idea really, as i have never heard or played the holy grail that is apparently the engl invader 100. I'm also too stubborn to play an engl at the moment as everyone else seems to want one. Call it wrong psychology or something like that. Or call it me just being very very happy with the VHT.

If you like the invader, maybe you should keep it, but, if you are really lusting after a VHT, well, maybe it's time to try a kt88 loaded one with the EQ? Oh, and slap that bost pedal in front of it, eq the amp, and then add flavour in the places where you want with the EQ.

Just bear in mind you will want an RJM amp gizmo to switch the thing, but, with that, it's extremely versataille, as the EQ/FX loop/Channel boosts (clean and rythm) are all switchable.

I think the main thing to really do is spend some time appreciating that the UL really doesn't sound like other amps. It's tight, but not in the processed way engl's seem to be as it's still got a very organic 3D tone to it, it's very unforgiving (not that that'll be an issue for you ) has a very deceptive gain (ie, even if you pile it all on, it's still uber tight, and it just means it sounds smoother, doesn't add saturation. it's weird.) Plus, it sounds better cranked.

I say give it another shot, and you can always go and try something else afterwards if you don't like it, as it's not as if you'll have problems getting rid of it...
