I played it and everything, wasn't wowed by it then, but of course he insisted it was the greatest amp ever, and he also now refuses to shut up about how he had one "before it was popular". If you like ENGL amps, cool, you do you, but I'm just waiting for them to fall out of popularity because I'm tired of seeing them.
Dude, I wasn't acting all high and mighty about Engls, all I'm saying is yes, SS.org is getting into Engls now, but they've been a "fad" as you like to call them, for about 4 or 5 years everywhere else. If its gonna bottom out, its taking a long time coming.

No. Not saying you were like the person I mentioned, it wasn't an attack on you..mainly just ENGL's in general..I really should do a thread on that... And fad's last for a while, the new thing just hasn't come along yet, it takes a while.

I'm gonna leave it here after this one, as this may go too far, but you could say the same for any amp manufacturer that has been popular, that they'll stop being a fad when something new comes along. Would you consider Marshalls in metal a fad, as they aren't used like they were in the 80's?

To me, and I'm sure the actual way, is fads dont last long, hence the term in the first place. If you want amp fads, go to HCAF and watch them cry over a Mark IV one week and then g.a.s. after a Mako Dorado, and then sell everything and buy an Uberschall, and then get a Peters Gryphon the week after, and then a Splawn Nitro etc etc etc.

Sorry to the original poster for this by the way, move along here. Great amp and hope you enjoy it

Dropped2C is a jewel in the rough
I am going to be recording with it soon, i am going to use it and one of my triamps. and I might sneak a track of a pre500 dual recto just for kicks.

I dig it so far i don't really like it with emg's I prefer passives with it I never like passives but maybe this is a good thing, time for a change...

whosdealin has a spectacular aura about
The Cobra has been my main amp for a while now...... I have been using greenbacks up untill just recently. I switched to warehouse vet30's and I like them better with the Cobra than any other speaker I have tried. Greenbacks come in 2nd place. I have tried most 12'' speakers out there... Celestions, Eminence, Webers. You name it, I bought one and tried it out in my 2x12 to see how it sounded with the Cobra. Regular Vintage 30's sound ok but I like the warehouse speakers better.
