5150/6505/TripleRec in a box? (pedal question)

ight so i have someveryvery lame news. my mom wont let me buy a bigger amp. i dont blame though. so im gunna buy some pedals and stuff.

is there any pedals that have a good 5150/tripleRec sound? i mean as in the skull crushing distortion.

i heard that the KranK distortus maximus has almost exact sound of a 5150, but i havnt tried it out.

so any suggestions guys?

Maybe you can get a Peavey Rockmaster preamp, its basically the Ultra Plus head's preamp which the 5150/XXX/JSX are based from.

my girlfriend says i'm totally METAL!

what size is the amp you have now?

DONT buy distortion pedals trying to get 5150/dual rec tones - you wont be satisfied. the POD idea will get you the closest, and you can run it through your home stereo for volume.

but waht i'd do is look for a mesa DC-5 or something instead. ballsy metal tone, not a huge amp by any means, easily giggable.

3 cheers for free gear!

i think for your situation, you'll want some variety of POD and a pair of nice headphones.

Yeah, if a MG10 is too loud, anything with tubes is out of the question. A Pod and a good set of 'phones it is.
