![]() ![]() | I'd definitely say try to play that head through whatever you can get your hands on. I went through the whole asking other people their opinions deal. And while you can't get some great insight and info, nothing beats trying anything and everything you can access in person. That being said, to my ears the VHT cabs are my favorite, but if you don't want to buy/ can't afford it, that's understandable too. My Splawn 2x12 is gonna go bye-bye to make way for a Fatbottom 2x12. I just really like how any head I play through my 4x12 sounds better to me. And if you do wind up getting P50E's new, they take a while to break in so keep that in mind. Good luck! I'm about as cool as a fart in a space helmet. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() My all black BuzzBomb: a closed back ported 2x12. I got a super deal on ebay to get this at Avatar type prices. Tim of EarCandy is a great guy, and will work with you on getting the sound you want. Based on his advice I went with a pair of :: Earcandy cabs .com :: Products: EarCandys The Green Machine 12 GreenMachine speakers. These are not to be confused with Celestion Greenbacks which are totally different. Check out the link on these speakers. Construction quality of this cab is absolutely top notch, and imo they have badass looks. Unfortunately I have only been playing this cab with my Univalve - and at times using my 15 watt Traynor 1x12 YCV20WR as a head. Neither of these amps give me the metal tone I am looking for, so neither is a good test. (I am currently on a major new amp quest as I mentioned in other threads). I think the cab is great, but I am not sure I love the speakers. I may experiment with others - AFTER I get a new head.... or I may just decide they are killer speakers. ...there is no emoiticon to express what I'm feeling... | |
