Pod XT Bass pack

Does anybody use this? So far, all bass I've recorded has been through a SansAmp Bass DI. I've been unable to get a nice warm tone out of it, but that probably says more about my abilities than the box. I've also been whacking this through some bass cab impulses, and it does get better, but I'm still not happy.
So I've been thinking about buying the bass pack for my XT Pro. Has anyone done this? If so, what do you think of it? Can you get nice tones out of it?

Yes, I got it, and it is OK, but I am not a conoisseur of bass sounds. However my girlfriend is a bassist and likes here kidney version. It's got some good sounds in it, but it does seem to like having a preamp in front of it. Also, impulses may work well as well with it, but I haven't tried.

For me it was worth the upgrade just for completism and so I can jam out on the bass through it (Plus play guitar through bass rigs)

Have you recorded much with it, James? What kind of sounds does she go for?
There are some bass sounds that I'd love to be able to get similar results to. I'd love to be able to get a sound like Patitucci's on the older Elektric band cd's; that very warm but defined sound he has.
So far, with the Tech 21, I've not got near it. But at $99, and considering I'm not a bassist so won't get much milage out of it personally, I wondered if it did for bass what the XT does for guitar.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been using just a clean patch on my POD XT for a bass tone but it's definitely not cutting it.

I've never tried the bass pods, but I love the tones I get for my bass through my Guitar Rig 3 setup.

I just discovered a godly clean tone last night.

POOF!

well... I have no idea! It does make nice bass sounds if you tweak, but I am not a bassist to be honest, so to me those last lines are gobbledegook!

I think you can upgrade, try, and if you don't like remove and get a refund (I think, not sure, but i remember something along those lines) plus, at 50£ it's not actually that much, and cheaper than buying a seperate bass podxt...

I just got it so i could record bass and get a good sound and to avoid having to use plug ins like guitar rig et all...

Ooh, a refund option sounds great. I'll check it tonight and give it a go if a refund is available.

Cheers dude!

Dude, aren't the PODs coming now with 6 bass amps and preamp model? They sure sound better than a regular clean guitar tone

Not on the one I have. I bought mine a couple years ago so maybe they weren't offering those presets on the older ones.
