How the hell did i miss this?! (Boss DD-7)

well, the new Boss DD-7 totally snuck up on me, never even knew one was in the works . i don't recall any mention of it on this site either...

anyway, this thing looks seriously badass.

Expanded delay time, up to 6.4 seconds
Modulation Delay mode offers natural, chorus-type sounds
Analog Delay mode models the classic warm BOSS DM-2 analog delay sound
Tap tempo controllable via external footswitch
Delay time, feedback, and effect level can be controlled via external Expression pedal (sold separately)
Up to 40 seconds of recording for sound on sound (Hold mode)

feature wise, it buries my antiquated DD-5. i think i'm sold on one of these when they become available. this pedal could realistically do the job of three different pedals for me, my regular digital delay, an analog delay, and a looper (40 seconds!).

the DD-6 didn't give me a reason to want to upgrade my DD-5, and i really didn't like the built-in tap tempo. i much prefer the external tap tempo of the DD-5 and this feature is brought back with the DD-7 . the reverse delay sounds way improved over the useless DD-5 one.

thoughts?

?! I didn't hear about this either.

I'll stick with my beat-up DD-5, but it's good to know that there is a decent upgrade out there.

my thing about the DD-6 was it was super pricey, and once i tried one out i was like "it's overkill for my purposes".

when you selling that DD-5?

3 cheers for free gear!

I just got this the other day. Seems pretty damn sweet.
electro harmonix: Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai

I don't know much about delay pedals, been a while since I had one, but this thing can do some crazy shit including chorus type sounds, flange.

GUESS WHAT I'VE GOT? Fitzgibbons 5000 ultra synapse accellerator which allows me to think faster than the masses and phase in and out of the matrix at will.

i really havent gotten on with any of the memory man pedals. there was an old one our old singer had, that was clearly malfunctioning, and it sounded godly, but other than that...

i would definitely have to try it out first. the few EHX pedals i have messed around with were pretty noisy. no matter how good it may sound, i still need it to be reliable. my 12 year old DD-5 has never let me down.
