Invader has arrived (Pics and mp3)

Oh yeah! Yesterday was indeed a good day. I ordered myself a ENGL Invader 100 through my local music store last monday, and yesterday the beast arrived.

First I was a bit confused with all the leds and knobs, but it is a very simple amp to operate, and it sounded awesome even with all the knobs at 12o'clock.(except for the master volume) So I got a brilliant tone from all of the channels without any tweaking! There's a lot of hype surrounding the amp, but I must say, it lives up to it in my opinion. I can't say anything about the durability etc. and of course only the future will tell how I feel about this amp after years of use, but for now

I had only played it for a couple of hours, but I allready recorded a little clip with the Invader which can be found: SoundClick artist: TomiR - page with MP3 music downloads
This clip was tracked with channel 3, Hellraiser, Ibanez TS9, SM57, Mesa Recto cab. Some riffs I just made up. I will try to get some other clips up as well, like clean, rock'ish riff tone etc. A bit overgained (gain 12o'clock)

I began my invasion from the clean channel. This channel was a suprize, since it has a great, pristine clean tone. I was using my Hellraiser C-7 with EMG's and I still got a good clean tone.

The second channel has a nice, maybe a bit Marshall'y mild overdriven tone, BUT, you can get heavy tones from it as well. This channel combined with a Les Paul=niiiice!

Channel three. Oh, sweetness! This channel is one of the best, or maybe even the best high gain tone I have ever heard! And the way it responds to your playing is just pure xxx. This channel has a very fast response, which is brilliant for fast licks and technical riffs. It works nicely as a lead channel as well as a metal rhythm channel. The low riffs sound so goddamn aggressive with this channel.

Channel 4 has a bit more mids and is ideal for smooth leads, but it sounds killer when playing riffs as well.

I am very pleased with the fact that all the channels sound very different from each other, so you can get a huge range of different tones. From pristine cleans to classic rock, from singing leads to death metal. And the visual aspect is very appealing as well

I know the majority of you couldn't give a rat's a** about the text, so here are the pics

I have yet to try it with my Orange cab though, maybe tomorrow..
