Nice one man, great clip as well, but wait until you spend some time with it, and tweak it right, it'll sound uncredible!

warped is on a distinguished road
Derringers also stock these in Aus - they quoted me a whopping $4499 on an Invader 100. Give me a break.

Thanks guys!

I was away for work and didn't have internet access.

Now I have some free time again, so I can really start tweaking the monster.

The stock tubes have an ENGL stamp on them, just like Mesa tubes. I think the amp sounds incredible even with the stock tubes, so no Tung Sol treatment is needed for this amp.

...except now, since it seems that one of the preamp tubes has gone microphonic... crap!

Thanks!

Maybe I should have added "Warning, not for those with heart conditions" to the title I have allready gotten better results with the amp, but it is a bitch to track now because of the microphonic preamp tube.

I usually have some spare tubes around, but goddamn, I can't find any!
But well, the tube has nothing to do with the amp itself, so no problem. I remember buying some new Mesa preamp tubes for my Recto and one of them was allready microphonic.

Had to give that clip another listen to today. Sounds a bit scratchy and dry to begin with, but once you open up with the chords, it just sounds 'alive' if you know what I mean? Then the riffs at around 50 secs just sound mean as hell.

Yeah, that chunk is just awesome on this amp! I think the scratchy part had a lot to do with the low volume level.(and maybe my picking ) I recorded that clip with the volume very low. I got to do some more tweaking and tracking today, and I posted a new clip on SoundClick artist: TomiR - page with MP3 music downloads

I am getting there. I am going for a kind of a Nevermore meets Fear Factory's Demanufacture, there is a lot of work still to be done, but I am loving every second on the way.

I just need to get my stuff to my drumkit and track some drums to go with the clip.

Wow, very cool new clip. I'd love to hear what it sounds like with drums, because it does sound like it'll work amazing in a mix with other instruments.

It took me a while to get the rythm channel tweaked to the way I like it, the amp really is voiced quite differently to the Fireball, so it took some getting used to. I think the EL34s threw me a bit as well, this is one of the few non-6L6 amps I've used, so I've found myself dialing in more bass than I had before.

What EQ settings are you using for that last clip?
