When I had a tube go bad in my B52, it was the number 4 preamp tube. So it may be in the preamp too.

How cheap are fuses? Should I pop out one tube at a time and replace it and see if it pops another fuse? Or generally in this situation do you just re-tube the whole fucking thing? This is my first tube amp in case you can't tell

When a tube goes bad, it most often shorts in the filament area, and it doesn't matter what tube it is, it will draw too much current and pop a fuse. There are lots of things in an amp that could blow a fuse that are more likely than a tube, especially if it hasn't moved much.

Any way to test a tube with a multimeter? That could be one way to check if it's a tube, just pop all my tubes out and test em out.

I own a tube tester, but... The filament on the tube will show a low resistance anyway. Find a tube schematic and measure all the tubes. If you find anything that differs on one of them it MIGHT be the issue. First, Just change that damn fuse!

You need a pinout schematic. Just measure between all the pins that are supposed to be connected together with an element of the tube in question.

Really, if you have a shorted tube, it will be apparent somewhere, like it doesn't light up when you replace the fuse, or it lights up REALLY bright.

Change the fuse first! Buy lots of fuses, they're cheap! If it blows right away, bring it on down here with 6 cases of Sleeman Original Dark.
