Mesa Bias?

Even though mesas have the fixed bias thing do they still benefit from a bias? If so how do you bias them? I'm talking about a roadster if that matters.

There's a lot of people who have the Mesa's bias set for whatever tubes they buy - and there's nothing wrong with that, if you're using tubes outside of Mesa's spec range. However, it *does* void your warranty...

yeah you would have to mod the amp. B/c fixed bias means that their is a component(resistor/capacitor) instead of an adjustable one like a pot. and it voids your warranty and makes them harder to sell.

Not true. Mesa endorses the bias mod as long as it is done by their specs, by a Mesa approved tech. It doesn't void your warranty if you play by Mesa's rules. I think the same applies to the series effects loop mod.

+1 i had this conversation with Chris @ Mesa/Boogie in Petaluma he stated as long as it is done a certified mesa tech or the ones they authorize then you can have the mods done or the updates. it doesn't affect it as long as it is an authorized modification. They also said as long as you have the proper ranged groove tubes in the amp your amp won't void it's warranty, thats what Chris said for the record

YES. i had my Mesa Nomad 45 properly biased, and it sounds a lot better.
