Digitech Whammy = Tone Loss?
Im tempted to spend money again! Ive wanted a Digitech Whammy for years and now my usual guitar shop id knocking them out half price!

Im just concerned about tone loss though, Im guessing you dont get true bypass and I dont want to compromise my yummy DiMarzio/Mesa tone just for a widdly effect that I'll use maybe once in a set. Anyone got any experience of these pedals (the re-issue, not the original)? Cheers.

i loved mine, and didn´t notice a change, really. you could have it modded to be true bypass though.

When I tried running one direct I definitely noticed some tone suck. However, if you run it with a looper I think you can resolve the issue. LordOvChaos might know more about hooking something up like that though.

i´d say looper as well, OR have it modded to have tr00 bypass. i´d go for the second option to make things more simple :P

I use a looper with mine because it does suck tone a bit, and also when on, theres a slight latency issue too. Still, for them kind of sounds it cant be beat

GAK, £120 down from the usual £200. I eventually plan to run nearly all my pedals through a looper (RG-16) in a rack but thats a long way off! May well consider having the Whammy in the rack aswell and using an external expression pedal, lil trick I picked up from Alex from Cry For Silence If I get one soon I'll either have to investigate a true bypass mod OR...could I run it in the effects loop?
