Should I? (ENGL)

Well, I have been thinking of selling my 6505, which doesen't really get any playtime because of my Triple, and to get an ENGL Invader 100 to replace the Peavey. The stores usually only carry Powerballs, Firwball's, Screamers etc. so I would need to buy the Invader without trying one first. (a crappy idea, I know )

Since the lack of versatility is the reason I want to get rid of the 6505, how versatile the Invader REALLY is? Yes, it has 4 independent channels, but how much variety do they offer?

I am mostly a "studio" musician, so this amp would be used to track a big variety of music, from jazzy stuff to prog rock and to metal. I love my Triple Recto, and I am not parting ways with that, but I would love to have an amp to complement the Recto.(Recto 6L6, Invader EL34)

I have also heard great things about the fact, that ENGL's sound great even when playing at low volume levels?

Are there any issues with the Invader's that have come to your attention?

I am pretty sure that this will turn into a "ENGL roxor, GET IT NOW!" threads But better to be sure than sorry

Thanks guys in advance!

ENGL roxor, GET IT NOW!

Seriously though, it does that variety that I think you're looking for.

You could always buy it, if for some reason it doesn't suit your needs, sell it on here!

Dude...I swear I was gonna do a thread about the same thing (Although I'm gonna make the thread anyway). I'm considering selling my 6505+ halfstack because I'm not playing in bands, and I can't crank it on my apartment. I'm gassing for a ENGL screamer 1x12.

what makes you think the 6505 isnt versatile.... ?

yes its REALLY GOOD at one thing, but i dont think it'd be bad at others..

I was looking for 5150's back in like November. In December I had a whole month off!

I very rarely recommend a blind purchase but I'm 99.99999999999999999999999% positive you'll not regret getting rid of a 5150 for an Invader. It can do that one thing a 5150 is good at and countless other things the 5150 can't do.

I've never played a more versatile amp. All 4 channels sound completely different from each other and have other little midi programmable buttons to make them sound even more different!

VERY versatile! Perhaps the most versatile amp ever made.

In short... do it!
