+100.

It's a very hard amp to dial in, but for some reason it sits in a mix very well. I was quite surprised.

Oh, yeah, and re: trying one at a store - I hated Rectifiers for the longest time, until I got a few pointers on how to dial them in, found a sound I thought was OK but might record well, and impulse-bought one just to spend a few days tweaking, figuring I could return it and go back to my Nomad if I wasn't happy. Now, I'm thinking of selling my Nomad because it's been so long since I've even turned it on - seriously, this is an amp that needs to be heard LOUD to really appreciate. The Rectifier power section is a thing of beauty, dude - stick a Hot Plate in line so you can push it without causing your house to self-implode, and the thing just gushes tone.

Yeah, maybe some kids using the amp with tube rectifiers selected, spongy setting and bass at 10 have a problem with it sounding muddy

Yeah, it really is a great amp when tracking guitars. It might have a bit of a scoop at certain mid frequencies, but there are tons of low mids so the tone stays fat.

Here's a clip I made with my Triple Rectifier, Recto Standard 4X12" cab, Schecter Hellraiser C-7, Ibanez TS-9, SM57. The mic position wasn't the best so the low end is a bit boomy and I noticed the guitar was a bit out of tune, but hell, a metal riff I made and tracked with my Triple Recto: SoundClick artist: TomiR - page with MP3 music downloads

A Recto - Tubescreamer - a good cab - SM57= awesome tone!
^ ya what he said I've done very little recording so far with my Rectoverb but what I've done so far surprised me a lot.
I haven't even sat down and really tweaked it for 'recording" yet. I just threw a mic on front of the recto cab and pushed record and I got a surprisingly good sound without even really trying.
Stick an MXR 10 band EQ in the loop and you can get it plenty tight and dial out any mud.
Rectos kick ass.

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?
