Parka Dez is a jewel in the rough
New live rig pics (engl, blackmachine, rig of doom content)

So we have just had a week of practice with my band The Safety Fire (MySpace.com - THE SAFETY FIRE (NEW TRACK Feat guest solos!!!) - South West Massive, UK - Metal / Progressive / Alternative - www.myspace.com/thesafetyfire) with our now complete rig (I say complete, until the next time I get gas).

We have two Engl Powerballs, two Pod Xt Pros, one Z11 midi swticher, and Digi 003 and a laptop controlling everything. We have backing vox and synths coming through the PA system from a laptop also controls all our presets so we can just concentrate on rocking.

So no for the pics:

Great looking rig.

I've always been a little confused by the two POD pros thing...

What do the two of them do in your rig?

Awesome!

I'm GASing for an Engl pretty bad right now myself.

How do you have the laptop controlling the rack? I'd be interested in finding that out for sure!

The two Pods are for each amp, we just having everything in the same rack. The pods are used for reverbs, delays, EQ's and gates. We had them anyway, so we thought we should try them out before spending any more money. Is sounding pretty wicked at the moment!

Our drummer plays to a click, so I have midi program set changes being sent to the Z11 which controls both the amps and then to both the pods. Is really easy, programming patch changes is easy and everything is individual, so you have can one several pod patches over the top of the one z11 patch for example. Has been working really well so far!

This gives me a use for the second laptop I have. I keep wanting to run it in a rig, but have no place for it.

Are all the channel changes done as normal from footswitches, or are they being MIDI controlled now?

I definitely approve of this set up, despite my non love for PODs, I'm VERY intrigued by it

Edit: Ignore, you already answered my question

Indeed that is me. My other internet alias is Parka Dez, which I would like to have on the internet/forums, but can't be arsed starting a new account in the same place.
