JohnnyCNote is a jewel in the rough
It's still more of a practice amp than either of my 160w Peavey heads, though I did use mine in an apartment in SF for several years, with the volume on zero, and never got any complaints. More than just practice, I need something with a different sound for recording. If I use the same guitar and amp on all tracks, they blend into each other . . .

Find out the
SHOCKING reason why Last Rites was called "scariest band ever" by the San Francisco MusiCalendar. . .

This is great advice, I definitely concur. Save up a few more bucks and look into that, it would be worth it considering the amp would be a quadrillion times better than the Crate or Valveking.

I personally would rather have the Behringer GMX212 for $250 (Tech 21 clone) and call it a day than spend drop $400 on a Crate or an imported Peavey.

I'm going back to GC tomorrow (if I don't wimp out and sleep all day), so I'll check out some of the ones that have been suggested here. I can spend more, and there's the "economic stimulus" thing coming along starting in May (if you can believe the news), so even the Mesa isn't completely out of the question.

I keep on kicking myself in the a$$ for not picking up a Fender Super Reverb years ago when they were a common find at $300 or so. Then, I say the same about selling my '66 Mustang . . .

You guys just totally ragged on my new am :P. I like the Valveking and Although i haven't gotten it very loud yet I'm pretty sure i could get some kickass tone from it.
