I'm going to have to agree with this totally. They can be a good bandaid for cheap gear, but with most things they're a detriment. They certainly won't give your Line 6 more "tubeyness" like you're looking for. Frankly, I don't believe Line 6 are capable of sounding like a tube amp, or good period, but I'd definitely look into new speakers as the best way to improve your tone. I would avoid V30s or GT12-75s though, there are much better options out there that won't sound buzzy or harsh. I'd look into some C90s, CL80s, Eminence stuff, etc.

Hey man, I ran a HD147 through a 1960 cab once before in my life and ALL you need is a overdrive in the front and an EQ in the loop. I ran a TS9 and MXR 10 band. It will wake that setup up so much you might consider buying stock in some NyQuil to pour in the radiator of that ass kickin machine...

I say buy a cheapo EQ (I hear Dano Fish n' Chips are great, cheap EQs) then save up for a better amp, or if you don't already get a fairly nice overdrive pedal and then once you sell the Line 6 you can use the OD with the new amp. An EQ and OD almost always have potential to enhance your tone.
I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

Also, sell me your HD. ![]()
7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.
