drezdin has a spectacular aura about
I liked it.
From other videos I've seen, the voicing and gain settings interract with each other to give lots of different sounds and can smooth out the sound a lot.
I wish I could ditch my Fireball for one of these

I had been waiting to get sense of what this thing would sound like before pulling the trigger on a Mark IV. Admittedly, I knew they'd be very dissimilar. I think I'll be going for the Mark as, while the Sig:X sounds like it might be pretty good, it doesn't sound like it would deliver the smoothness I like.
Now THAT's what I'm talking about. The first part of the rhythm channel demo makes my pants happy

This is the problem with videos like this, people actually think that's what sounds like and then jump to conclusions. There's a million variables that come into play here, the only way to really know is to hear it in real life. You may very well like your S160 more than this amp, but you certainly wouldn't be able to tell that based on webcam clips from a random guy.

That's like judging someones live tone from a camera phone video on youtube

Yeah THAT clip sounds much better. Nothing like the ones in the original post, which was my main point. This clip sounds a lot more like what I'm used to, only he's not using a tube screamer which I never disengage. That thing is a Godsend to VHTs, or any amp really. It also sounds under-biased a bit (it reminds me of how my UL sounded a bit when I first got it/pre-tube change).

Newfinator: It can get plenty smooth, a clean boost really helps in that regard as well. It also depends on the guitar he's using, It sounds like he was using EMGs.
