well drew, that's kind of what i mean.

i like having an amp that does balls-to-the-wall metal rhythm and screaming leads, its great! its what i play half the time! but i also like to roll back the gain and smack out some dirty classic-sounding riffs. if the amp cant go from one to the other, for me personally, it's probably not worth getting.

i've used my jsx in a musical to cover music from the 60's up to 2000's. im glad it could handle everything i threw at it

3 cheers for free gear!

Nah dude, you haven't really nailed "60's" tones until you've played a truly shitty amp.

Honestly, my roommate has this old solid state Traynor that's like a 2x8 or something that I fired up the other day while doing some housecleaning. I fucking love the thing, it sounds all raw and ragged and fucked up in a way that's just absurdly cool. I need to take some pictures and record a few clips for you guys, it's just a cool amp because it's an unequivically shitty sounding amp.

Ross, if you like the HD, but would like the clarity of valves. Why not try the Spider Valve? could be your thing.

and i know 60's tone.. i have my kustom tube12A to mess around on haha.

I thought about the Spider Valve...and also the Vetta II, I figure the best tone I've ever had was a PODxt into an ENGL 50/50, so I'm kinda leaning towards selling the HD and my XTLive and getting an XT Pro/Valve poweramp.

I'll see what I can do, dude. It's actually a SURPRISINGLY cool amp, if you like playing Tom Waits covers.
