Hmmm..

Ever try Natural harmonics w/vibrato before? That's pretty much what I do cuz I can't hit Pinches on the lower strings for some reason, and get fuckin' intense PH sounds that way.
I know whatcha mean though, I can get great harmonics out of my GNX3+Amp but when I used to go through my Metal Planet it just didn't really do them well. Try lowering the gain, use a TS as a boost (remember, very little gain from these go a long way!) and even try putting an EQ in the loop if you want to adjust frequencies a bit better, and new tubes/bias certainly wouldn't hurt either.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

No, but I'd like to. I've heard clips and I've played the model on the GT8 and that sounded pretty good.

Hell yes! I will certainly go there and drive away all the customers by going from amp to amp and playing nothing but pinch harmonics!

You're talking about using a tremolo for vibrato with natural harmonics right? My KxK doesn't have a tremolo.

Nah, finger vibrato (bending). its kinda tricky to pull off at first, you have to stay off the fret and still bend it a bit. Give it a try and if it doesn't work out, well, you still have some options left!

I didn't even know it was possible to get a decent PH without vibrato.

I played around with it for a few hours today and had a few very "duh!" moments. I think I was just being anal and expecting the impossible. But you know how it is when you get something new and expect it to be perfect.

The first thing I realized is that I can really improve the sound of pinch harmonics by TWEAKING THE FUCKING AMP... especially the presence and mids (turn down the presence and turn up the mids). That was my main problem. Next, I realized that I've been comparing the amp to amps that are much more compressed and middy and muddy. It's not as forgiving and you need to nail PH if you want them to really pop.

So yeah, I think I complain too soon. I'm just going to enjoy the fucking amp for what it is and TWEAK before I SPEAK next time

Also, ENGL's come with JJ's don't they? Would picking up a new set matched by Eurotubes make that big of a difference with this amp? Also, I don't think I'm fucking biasing this thing right now. I did a little googling and it doesn't look as user friendly as my Marshall was.

if you cant get pinch harmonics on a fireball your doing something wrong i set my gain at around 9 oclock - 10 oclock and my pinch harmonics shatter windows and im not boosting it.

*edit*

that came across a bit bitchy it wasnt meant that way but seriously you should have no problem getting pinches out that amp.

I can "get" them. I was disappointed in the way they sound, but after spending the afternoon tweaking the amp, I'm satisfied. I didn't understand the amp as well as I do now when I posted the original message.
