![]() ![]() ![]() | Should I do it!?!?!? I have the opportunity to buy a VHT Pitbull UL-100 head with g-eq for $500. Thing is though is it has a blown output transformer. A friend at Guitar Center bought it for me when a dude came in hard up for some cash. My friend told him that with the blown output transformer, he should be thankful that he could get that much for it. I only wonder though, what it if there is something else wrong with it? But hey, for $500 thats a steal no matter how you look at it... Please lemme know somethings to look for on these amps for signs of other damage. |

Let me call them and see what they have to say about your problem. Perhaps I could get some answers for you. I'd also recommend sending a detailed description of the problem and perhaps some photos to me to forward to my guy at VHT. If you could get it working for a reasonable cost that would be amazing, as in my honest opinion the UL is the finest high-gain amp in existence. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | for $500, go for it. the great thing about tube amps is that they're easily repairable. even if the cost of the repairs and a retube bring you up to $1,000 -$1,200, it's still a great deal for that amp. |
