Some advise on a new cab/speakers please!

Hello! I'm currently play a peavey valve king head. and cab. The cab is terrible, I've played the head through a few different cabs (orange, matamp, mesa etc) and it sounds awesome..

I'm also thinking of.scaling.down to a 212. A friend of mine will sell me a marshall 1922 2x12 for 100 quid. That pretty good but I'm not the biggest fan of celestion speakers..

I've been looking at these for a while and I've on heard good things about eminence speakers.

http://www.bluearan.co.uk/menu/index...e=manufacturer

Does anyone know if this cab/speaker combination would sound any good? Any clips of the speakers?
Also does anyone know how the watts/ohm would add up and what setting i would use the amp on?

Thanks!
james

I've had a good experience with my Avatar 2X12, Its got a Vintage 30 and a Greenback in it. It sounds amazing through my legacy, only thing I've complained about it is I'm limited to 50W of output, so I got lucky that I can set my legacy to half.

Thanks for the advise but i don't really have the money for that at the moment. I found someone selling a line 6 212 for £50. Does anyone know what ohms i would need to run my amp on with those speakers and if the wattage is ok?.

thanks!

Eminence are great speakers. For a killer 300w cab, throw in one Tonker & one Swamp Thang. 150W each. The Tonker is basically a high wattage version of a Vintage 30 & the Swamp Thang can really throw out some tight focused low end. The 2 together sounds incredible.

I THINK you can wire up 2x8ohm speakes for 8 ohms total.

do a search for "ohms" threads, i think there was one around last week. should be no prob for finding the info
