I would like a second amp somewhere down the line, for a different vibe, I was thinking VHT or Mesa. I'm not sure is the Soldano the one though...

I'm pretty torn with this.

If you just want a second amp, I'm sure you can find some mesa on ebay for a much better price. I've seen Dual Rectifier go for about 600 pounds here in sweden.

If you weren't impressed, I say skip it. A good price, yes, but how far does that go when you're playing the Engl 97% of the time?

Skip it. If it isn't your style, get something that is, instead. Take it from a guy who bought a nice Les Paul at a cheap price knowing it wasn't his style.

One thing to ask yourself is, would you have been impressed if you spent time tweaking after you changed the tubes and rebiased?

You do raise an interesting point...

While I wasn't all that impressed, I didn't have one of my own guitars with me to try it out, it was being played through a Marshall cab, and I wasn't really allowed to crank it. I'm sure that those factors all played into why I wasn't too impressed. So I'm sure that tweaking and changing of tubes would and a rebias would all help as well if I got it home. I'd also say that my trusty Chaos modded TS7 would make it shine like a diamond.

This really is straining my brain.

You know what...

I think I do genuinely want this amp, but there's been a little niggling feeling in the back of my head, because I've wanted to get a Vader 2x12 for some time now, and if I get the Soldano, I'll have to put off the Vader untill later in the year. I think I've just put my finger on it...

Well, you know the Vader is going to kick ass kinds of serious ass, and if you've wanted one for awhile, you probably should go with a sure thing.

Yeah, but the Vader can wait, this can't. I'd say someone else is going to snap it up, I do know a few other guys are eyeing it up. I am just really torn with this, I really don't know if I should get it or not, and I was hoping this thread would help out with that decision, but I don't think it has. I'm not going to make a purchase one way or another until tomorrow, so I have until then to think it over, and make my mind up.
