![]() ![]() | NGD: X2 XDR95 Instrument Wireless Well, I got the shit Friday, just didn't get around to posting pictures until today. I wasn't expecting this until next week, so I was pretty excited when I got the box Friday... Oh my, what a lovely new X2 XDR95 Digital Wireless System... ![]() ![]() Everything you need in the box, including a sticker! ![]() Looks so sexy in my rack... ![]() I must say, it has a pretty impressive light show... ![]() This wireless system is pretty sweet. I haven't had a chance to test it live yet, but it sounds awesome. I can't tell the difference between it and everything cabled. It was easy as hell to set up. Literally just turn on the body pack and unit and select the channel one each. The hardest part was screwing on the rack ears and putting it all into my rack. The cable that came with it was pretty good. It seems solid and like its really quality. I have the XC3 right angle cable on the way though. Its made with neutrick plugs and Canare wire. I just wanted it because I much prefer right angle cables when playing. Everything else gets in my way. Bouncing back between active and passive p'ups was a breeze. There are no volume levels or dB adjustments to worry about with this system, its all taken care of for you. It just works and works well. I felt thrown back by its lack of display settings, but then I realized how much easier it was to not have all that. The pack has channel select and power buttons. The top display shows signal, battery life, and channel. The front panel shows channel, reception, battery life, and signal. The battery life and signal meters are so clear and easy to read. Its a very bright friendly display. The battery meter is even measured in hours, but I am not sure how accurate that is just yet. We will see. Everything about this unit is just fantastic and I highly recommend it. I so far only had the chance to do some light testing and not quite at my rigs full volume level. I will test it more at practice Monday, but it won't be live tested until March 7th. I am very happy with it so far, my only concern is battery life. I only played on it for 1.5 hours maybe, and the batter dropped a bit. The life seem to drop right off the bat, but I wonder how old the 9v in the box was and if there was any previous discharge. I am going to order a box of 12 Duracell Pro Cells and see how those last in there. Based on what I see so far, I am guess at least 3 gigs per battery. Pretty much not too different from my Sennheiser. The only time I got better results was when I use the e2 Lithium AA batteries by energizer. The lithium 9v are medical grade and $5 + a battery though, so I won't be buying those. Please buy my sennheiser wireless system in the Gear for Sale Thread.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The only downside of the digitals is the short battery life. I get about 10 hours out of a standard 9v. Otherwise, those look super-cool, and I'm now GASing for one... |

![]() ![]() | My sennheiser took AA, and good AA's would last a while. The X2 max's out at 5 hours on the units face. We will see if it goes that long. As long as I can get through at least 3-4 gigs off of one battery, it should be OK. |

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |
