You could see how it would take a while to bias this amp properly. Remove the first power tube, place the bias probe, put the tube back on, turn it on, wait 30-60 sec for it to properly warm up, set the bias pot to 40ma, turn off the amp, wait 3-5 minutes for the tube to properly cool off....repeat 3 more times.....Plus, to do this right, a tech would have to go back and make sure the adjustments of each tube didn't affect the other tube's adjustments. Do the math that is about an hour's worth of work....most tech's get $50-$75+ an hour...ouch.

Or you could grab a Weber Bias-Rite tool and do them all at once, without having to pay a tech to do it.
Just have to be REALLY careful when messing around with the inside of the amp, don't want anyone getting friend! If you're not comfortable doing it I would suggest just paying the tech to handle it for you. ![]() |

Someone had used it on a SpiderValve 212 to great success... so I'm guessing it is possible.

The Bias-rite has a selector and shows you each tube's voltage and mA. It would work perfectly fine.
