Sorry, I write it wrong.

It sounds like a POD connected to a tube preamp, right?

When you record, the POD needs that warm of tubes. And that's what you have when you connect the POD to the amp.

its a budget amp geared for the comercial market ie kids that can afford high end full tube amps so comparing the sv to full tube amps like peavey engl mesa just isnt a fair comparasion.its not a bad product and its really the 1st tubestate effort by line 6 so u cant expect miracles even though bogner was on board it was still the 1st of its kind inthe line 6 buisness.can u get useable tones i know u can but again this ampneeds volume to get it to sound good just like a lot ofthe other hybrid tube amps out there.

Whoa! How about some correct spelling, punctuation, and paragraphs? At the risk of channeling my inner Drew, that was quite painful to read.

I just don't know how they can justify 700$, when you can buy real tube combos the same size for less used. Want a small amp? Studio 22, 450$. Want a bigger tube combo? rectoverb, mark III, whatever, 7-900$.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

It sounds just like a Spider II or another plastic sounding Line 6, only due to the 'tube' power section it can get very loud. Unlike real tube amps however, the tone does not improve as volume increases. I really think the SpiderValve is the worst amp ever made relative to its price, and that's a big deal when there are Kranks out there.

So it's like wasting 700 bucks.

I always wanted to try at least a Vetta or something like that.

i've heard a vetta in a live setting, and it sounded just like the Bogner i had heard the last time i saw the band play.

scary thought, i know.

3 cheers for free gear!

Isn't the best thing about modelling gear the fact that you don't have to buy new tubes?

Why would you take that away from yourself?

The HD147 and the Vetta II sound great. There's a perfectly good reason why Mustaine was using Line 6 for United Abominations. Go to Line 6's site and check out the list of artists using their stuff. You might be very surprised. You don't need tubes and a $3000 hit on your credit card statement to get great tone. That's the reality.

And you aren't getting any Kranks for the price of a Spider Valve, not even used......unless you find somebody either stupid or desperate to unload one.
