Most brutal amp distortion
Which amp has the most brutal sounding distortion? I'm talking you plug in and you've got Suffocation, Hate Eternal, etc. at your fingertips? Here's what I can say from what I've owned and played, in order from most brutalicious:
Mesa Triple Rec Mesa Mark IV Marshall JCM 2000 VHT Pittbull 5150 II JCM 800 I'd also add that a John Petrucci 7 string guitar sounds like a homeless guy's balls taste through every last one of them. It plays awesome but after 3 pickup changes that whimp had to go. |

Ampeg VH-140C and VH-150 are Suffocation tone in a box. it does metal with the gain at 3.

I saw that Suffo used those on Effigy - sounds heavy but not very clear. I wonder what they used on Pierced?
What's a Valve 3/100? And someone please comment on the Diezel, Cobra, Powerball, and Uberschall. One thing, does anyone who has one of those amps and a Digitech GNX4 with the extra CD of tones think the models sound anything like those amps? |
