Pod xt + fcb1010 [need some help!]

so i just recently bought a behringer fcb1010 to go with my behringer vamp-pro but i've decided i'm going to be using my pod xt a little bit more so i'm just curious if anyone knows how i can go about hooking this rig up?

i haven't really done much with midi before so any help/links on this topic would rule!!
thanks guys!

well, it depends on what you want to do with it.

using it just to select presets on your pod should be fairly simple. Just plug a midi cable from the fcb1010's out to your pod's in and set the fcb to bank-mode (if it's not already set by default). refer to the pod's manual to see which midi banks correspond to which patches/presets number you made on your pod.

additionally, you could programm the fcb1010 to turn FX on and off and assign the pedals to other parameters like volume.
since i don't own one, i can't help you further with programming it.

thanks for the response man!

i'm actually kind of hoping to do something like the 2nd thing you mentioned...turning FX on and off and using the pedals for volume/wah.

+1. Take your time to go through the FCB1010 manual so you understand how to program it. It's not explained clearly but with time you'll get the hang of it. There's a handy reference chart near the back of the POD Xt manual with MIDI command numbers for all the Xt functions that are MIDI programmable.

Also, you may be able to find a pre-programmed layout that you can upload to the FCB1010 online. Check here: fcb1010 : Behringer FCB1010 Users Group

about halfway down the page here you can find a syx file that will re-program your FCB1010 to properly work with the pod

well, i just got this all setup and i'm having some issues. i've never used midi before so that's obviously my problem.

i hooked up the midi out on the FCB into the midi in on the Pod XT and i can switch patches ok, and one of the controller pedals actually controls the volume.

the problem is i want to use the wah function but i have no clue how to do it. all i really want to be able to do is just switch to patches, use one expression pedal for volume and the other for wah. i'm almost there but i could use some help if anyone knows how to do this. once again, i'm a TOTAL midi-n00b

Hit the patch no. you want for the wah, edit it (hold bank down for a couple of seconds), hit bank up to get past the relay editing, and then hit 8/9 depending on which you want your wah pedal to be (if the one you want isn't lit already, hold it for a few seconds, then hit it again), then the bank up button. Enter the control value for the wah (which I think is 04) then hit bank up, enter the minimum position for the pedal, same again for the max, and bank up again to finish. Then hold bank down to save the patch.

Hope that helps man.
